Maybe My Way (aka Malcolm) - Adopted!

Description

15.3 Hands Tall
2011 Gelding

Malcolm was abandoned at the Strawtown auction, Thanksgiving eve, 2014.  He was alone, down and unable to right himself, a body score of a 2, and still wearing his race plates.  The community rallied around him, we brought him into the program and he lived at Horse and Hound Veterinary Clinic for the rest of that winter rehabbing. The following spring, he moved to a foster home for turnout and then approved for flat work and pleasure riding he went to re-training.

Malcolm was later adopted, where he received excellent care and was very loved, we might say that maybe he was loved to much.  He became quite spoiled and a bit big for his britches, ruling the joint. A spoiled rotten TB is never a pretty thing, so he came back.  After some remedial training with "the cowboy" and the assistance of a witchy mare, Malcolm is now back on the straight-and-narrow program, a gentleman.

 Located in central Indiana

Are you his adopter? Here is our wish list for him:

  1. Do you like the natural horsemanship thing?  Malcolm needs boundaries and he needs to know who his leader is.
  2. Do you live by the motto that cookies are earned, not facts of life or tokens of your affection?
  3. Do you pleasure ride - go on easy hacks around the farm, toddle a bit around the arena?  Malcolm isn't a competitive horse, never will be.
  4. He'd do best as an only horse with lots of interaction from his person, or living with a mare that has perfected "the mare stare".

Basically, Malcolm needs his person to give him boundaries and be the leader in the partnership.

Malcolm goes English and Western.  He can go on light trail rides, hacks around the farm.  He's also be a great companion horse. He may ask for shoes in the summer when the ground gets hard and the flies get him stomping.
