Adopting April is the best decision I ever made and now I get to ride the coolest, smartest, sharpest, hardest working horse in the world. I'm grateful every day to have her!

Aprilia and Melanie are doing great, 2 1/2 years after Melanie adopted Aprilia. They have been riding and showing alot lately and has found a new boarding facility that suits Aprilia with more turn out and a bigger stall. They recently won Champion of the 2' Limit Hunter Opportunity division at the World Equestrian Center in Ohio and just started schooling over 3' fences at home! Aprilia is blowing Melanie away with how much she can do.

Summer 2018 update on April:

We are well into our 2nd season of showing, taking home two Champions and one Reserve Champion at her first 4 shows competing in the Thoroughbred Hunter division; it's so awesome getting to see all the different show options specifically for Thoroughbreds! She's just starting to get the hang of the finer details of being a TB Hunter and she is so smart and such a joy to train and work with. I love seeing all the pieces "click" when she learns something new. I've even started trying some liberty work with her and she always impresses me with how willing she is to learn and try. I dont think there is anything I have asked her to do yet that she hasn't at least tried to do. We have established true trust in each other over the years which is just so unbelievably awesome to experience that connection with an animal. I'm so grateful to FFI for taking her in and allowing me to adopt her. Its the best decision I ever made and now I get to ride the coolest, smartest, sharpest, hardest working horse in the world and I'm grateful every day to have her!
